The stewards council is made up of GEO members active in organizing their individual departments. We meet in order to share ideas for increasing membership and involvement among members. Stewards also advocate for GEO members within their departments, have regular conversations with members in order to identify their concerns, and keep track of departmental developments that affect members. Come to the meeting to meet your departmental steward or to become a steward for your department. Now is a crucial time to get involved! All members are welcome to attend and pizza is always provided

1. Homo A Go Go: The Caucus is considering making a donation to this festival, which is happening this summer in San Francisco. Come to the meeting to discuss/vote. For more info, visit www.homoagogo.com.
2. Caucus Film Series: For our next event, we discussed sponsoring an outdoor film screening series in April at Temple Hoyne Buell Hall. We’re looking for LGBTQ-themed musicals or other films that would promote a participatory atmosphere (i.e. singing, dressing up). So far, our list of possibilities includes: Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, The Sound of Music, Rent, Rocky Horror, Victor/Victoria, and West Side Story. Bargaining Committee Meeting

The Bargaining Committee continues to meet to prepare for negotiating our next contract. They could use your help! We need more members to put their minds to this task so that we can be fully ready with a platform that the membership is behind and the University can’t help but accept. Please consider coming to the next Bargaining Committee meeting to find out more about this work. No experience is necessary – in fact, most of the members on the Bargaining Committee have no experience at this – they’ll be learning, along with the rest of us, about how to make our contract campaign a success.
